Rhythm & Rhyme

Life is full of rhythms.

When those rhythms fall out of order, it’s hard to keep up with both the pastimes we enjoy and the tasks we need to follow through with.

It can be one of those ‘fun’ downward spirals where we find it hard to pull ourselves back up.

One piece of our life puzzle can be enough to throw the whole picture out of focus and challenge us in our ability to make rhyme or reason of what we are seeing. Life is already challenging enough, but when pieces fall out of place, it can seem insurmountable.

Sometimes all we can do is endure what’s being thrown at us and focus on making it through a single day.

As a writer, chaos does not suit me well. Chaos is fun to write about, but at the end of the day, it does nothing to help me find rhythm. I need a rhythm to help maintain forward progress in my storyline. Writing is like an eternal marathon, it’s not always fun, but the end product makes the grind worth it.

Right now, I’m searching for that rhythm. Devotions and writing are slowly climbing back into my daily routine. Atom and Margo have saddled back up in my mind.

Stepping back into the flow of the storyline is challenging.

Changes are coming. I feel like this episode of the Atom & Go saga is darker than the previous entries and life isn’t helping brighten up their future.

Humanity has its own darkness. How does that project on the future? Will it ever go away? Every soul has a little darkness, so I would presume it will be there in the times of A&G … but who knows.

While we search and reflect, keep on reading, keep on searching for your own rhythm, and keep on flying the Black.

As much as I grieve the loss of summer and its freedoms, I actually love the school year rhythms (sleep, working out, eating, etc). It’s a different kind of freedom that I enjoy.
