The Greatest Adventure …

Is what lies ahead.

Or so I was told in the animated version of The Hobbit from my youth.

It’s true, we can’t go back and change the decisions of yesterday. We can only learn and grow from what came before. Focus on today and tomorrow. Take the next step in the journey that is life.

On that note, I must tell you that I am in the process of parting ways with Three Furies Press. As soon as the rights for Genesis revert to me I will relist it on KDP. This wasn’t something I approached lightly, but I felt like I needed to stay true to the story for the sake of the characters and their relationships.

I feel like Trinity built on the positive aspects of Genesis and grew into a fuller and richer story.

I love the story.

Starting today, I’ll be shopping the sequel around to some sci-fi publishing companies. I have to trust that my time with Three Furies was a learning and growing experience. It provided a positive foray into the world of publishing. I can’t wait to see what the next step will be.

In the meantime, I’m continuing to work on book three. After taking a couple weeks to sort out the above scenario, I not only played through Borderlands 3, but I also came to the conclusion that my plot for book 3 should probably be split into two books. My fear as I’ve been writing is that too much happens in too tight a window to be completely believable.

I know, I know. You’re telling me that I write fiction and I can do whatever I want.

Unfortunately, even if it is fiction, too many plotlines converging defies coincidence and left me, the creator, shaking my head at the sheer improbability of three divergent enemies getting together and agreeing to go on a vacation together that would allow Atom and Co. to pursue them in one solid grouping.

The upside is that I have a plot for book four outlined and a solid start written. I suppose this is the curse of being a writer. I have to deal with the larger puzzle.

Well, I aim to get back to writing and blogging. Spring is coming. Get out and breathe some fresh air. And in the meantime, keep on reading, keep on building friendships, and keep on flying the Black.
